About this deal

Syncing a new GamePad has a myriad of complications: if a GamePad is already synced to the console, its connection to the console would have to be removed, either by moving it far enough away or draining its battery. Additionally, the game would have to be closed and reopened, adding more time before a match can actually start.

All Button Super Smash Bros Controller - Hit Box Arcade

As with Nintendo's own offering, the Battle Pad is wired meaning that it's not easily usable in tabletop mode. The USB cable is a decent length and unlike Nintendo's own offering you won't need an adapter to use it. Personally, we'd prefer a wireless version of the GameCube controller but that doesn't look likely at the present moment in time. Thankfully, HORI rival 8BitDo does offer a solution of sorts, but it relies on an external device so the pad isn't totally wireless.

Part of me was wondering about compatibility with Wii Classic Controllers. It's cool to see that the extra buttons have designated functions. When it comes to third-party controller companies, Hori is right up there with the best. The accessory maker has released a number of designs that work with Switch, although the two listed below are fast becoming essential parts of many a Switch owner's arsenal. Hori D-Pad Joy-Con Tharsman You are completely correct. That's my mistake, then. Yes, I was talking about the PowerA Gamecube controller as well. It's fantastic. It should be on this list. (And the list should be ranked.)

True Super Smash Bros. Ultimate fans would only consider playing the game with a GameCube controller of course!" And yet the official one isn't on there. Which is the one everyone uses. No mention of the Magic-NS? It allows me to use my PS4 controller on Switch and it works pretty well. The d-pad on the mini original controller is a bit though. I'm finding the d-pad on the wii classic pro and Wii U smash controllers is better. The only problem with the wii u one is the d-pad is so small, but the b button and a button feels glorious! These smash controllers are really soooooo good! I'll be using an SNES controller. The adapter it uses lets you press Start+Select to get the home button functionality. To use this controller with Nintendo Switch, the GameCube Controller Adapter is required and is sold separately.
